Home Safety Tips:
Kitchen & Bathroom Safety
We’ve put together a list of tips and resources to help keep
yourself, your home, and your family safe.
Kitchen Safety:

Keep knives, forks, scissors and other sharp kitchen items out of easy reach of children on kitchen counters, preferably in a locked or latched drawer.

Unplug small appliances (toasters, blenders, etc) when not in use.
Be mindful of clothing and accessories when cooking: Bracelets can catch pot handles, long sleeves can catch fire.
Keep all cleaning products secured in a locked or latched drawer.

Bathroom Safety:

Keep medicines clearly marked, in child-proof containers, and separate for each family member.
Install non-slip surfaces in showers and bathtubs.

To prevent scalding, adjust your water heater so the hottest temperature at the faucet is no more than 120 degrees Fahrenheit (48.9 degrees Celsius).
